Martin Holder

  • Martin completed a number of roles at IT Manager and Director level in a range of companies before setting up Holder IT 25 years ago, to specialise in offering IT infrastructure services to smaller businesses. This has been very successful and the company enjoys a first class reputation for excellent value, personal service and concise advice.

    Martin’s experience working at the different levels within the IT industry allowed him to gain keen insight into both the technical and commercial aspects of IT and how daunting these can be for the layman. He uses that knowledge to ensure technical features are explained very clearly in a way that anyone without technical knowledge can understand, with investment costs fully justified; his patient and persistent approach always comes up with a solution that is durable and works.

    Martin’s first degree (MA) from St Andrews University was in a non-technical subject, but after a period in the IT industry he achieved by post graduate studies at Stirling University Business School an MBA heavily focussed on IT infrastructure, and has completed many further courses with Microsoft and other major IT players especially in the cyber-security arena. This track record demonstrates his recognition of the need for continuing professional development in a rapidly changing industry.

    More generally, Martin has gained a wealth of commercial experience and understanding as director of a business over the years, dealing at the front line with both strategic and day to day issues as they arise; he enjoys and finds personally rewarding using that knowledge and insight to help others tackle and resolve commercial challenges.

    Ben is director of BW Finance which is an appointed representative of one of the biggest finance brokerages in the UK. This means he has access to more lenders than most finance companies and can find a solution to any type of funding requirement.
